Sydney Sweeney Names Cristiano Ronaldo as Her Favourite Footballer

Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney has revealed Cristiano Ronaldo as her favourite footballer, praising his competitive spirit and saying he would be her inspiration if she played the sport.

Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney has revealed that Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is her favourite footballer, describing him as a major source of inspiration because of his dedication and competitive spirit.

Sweeney, one of the most talked-about young stars in Hollywood, is widely known for her Emmy-nominated roles as Cassie Howard in the hit series Euphoria and Olivia Mossbacher in The White Lotus. While she has built a strong reputation in the entertainment industry through her acting talent and versatility, the actress has also shown a growing interest in football.

The American actress and producer has occasionally expressed support for Italian club Inter Milan, although she has not publicly backed a specific team in Major League Soccer in the United States. She has also rarely been seen attending MLS matches.

When it comes to American football, however, Sweeney has made her loyalties clear. She is a passionate supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles in the National Football League (NFL).

Her interest in football also extends to Europe. During a recent trip to Portugal, Sweeney visited Lisbon’s Jose Alvalade Stadium to watch Sporting CP play against Estoril. Sporting secured a 3-1 victory in the match, and Sweeney’s presence quickly gained attention on social media.

Videos shared online showed the actress enjoying the experience, even juggling a football on the pitch and sharing playful moments with Sporting’s mascot, the lion Jubas. The clips captured her relaxed and cheerful mood during the visit.

While at the stadium, Sweeney also spoke about the footballer she admires the most.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is my favourite footballer,” she said. “I’m a competitive person, and if I were a footballer, he would be my inspiration.”

Sporting CP holds special significance in Ronaldo’s career. The Portuguese forward began his professional journey at the Lisbon club before moving to Manchester United as a teenager, a transfer that eventually helped launch one of the most remarkable careers in football history.

Today, Ronaldo is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, with numerous individual awards and records to his name.

Currently, however, the Portuguese star is recovering from a hamstring injury and is expected to remain out of action for around two to four weeks as he completes his recovery.
