Racing for a Cause: Dubai Racing Club to Share Ramadan Ticket Proceeds with Charity

Dubai Racing Club is donating Ramadan race night ticket proceeds to charity for four special evenings at Meydan Racecourse, where your night out supports the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable Establishment. Sport meets generosity this holy month.

In a heartfelt move aligned with the spirit of giving during Ramadan, the Dubai Racing Clubhas confirmed it will donate a portion of ticket revenues from several key racing events this month to a major UAE charity. This initiative reflects the club’s commitment not only to sport but also to community support and social responsibility during one of the most significant periods in the Islamic calendar.

The contribution will be made to the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable Establishment, a prominent philanthropic foundation in the United Arab Emirates known for its wide-ranging humanitarian efforts. The initiative underscores how sporting occasions can transcend entertainment and be used as platforms for meaningful social impact.

A Series of Special Race Nights at Meydan

The donation commitment spans four major race nights scheduled at Meydan Racecourse, a world-class racing destination in Dubai celebrated for hosting prestigious equestrian events. The dates earmarked for this charitable contribution are:

  • Friday, February 20
  • Saturday, February 28(Emirates Super Saturday)
  • Friday, March 6
  • Friday, March 13

On each of these nights, a portion of the ticket sales which includes standard admissions as well as special iftar hospitality packages will be directly channelled into the charity establishment’s Ramadan programmes.

By integrating philanthropic giving into its sporting calendar, the Dubai Racing Club is encouraging racegoers and the broader community to be part of something larger than just horse racing. The move highlights how traditional recreational events can also serve as avenues for strengthening community bonds and supporting people in need.

Embracing the Spirit of Ramadan

Ramadan is observed by Muslims around the world as a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection. It is also deeply associated with empathy and generosity. Across the UAE, organisations and individuals alike undertake various charitable acts during this period, ranging from food distribution to fundraising for vulnerable groups and crisis-affected communities globally.

During the holy month, many organisations launch targeted initiatives to amplify the impact of charitable efforts for example, dedicated donation campaigns, large-scale meal drives, and innovative fundraising platforms all aimed at harnessing the heightened communal spirit of giving.

In this cultural context, the Dubai Racing Club’s decision to donate part of its race ticket revenues is particularly significant. It brings an added layer of meaning to the horse racing calendar and illustrates how different sectors can contribute to community welfare beyond their usual field of operation.

Words from Dubai Racing Club Leadership

Commenting on the initiative, Khalifa bin Obood Al Falasi, a board member of the Dubai Racing Club, emphasised the organisation’s sense of civic duty during Ramadan. He noted that the club takes seriously its role not just as a centre for sporting excellence, but also as a socially conscious member of the UAE community.

“Ramadan is a time that reminds us of our responsibility to give, support those around us, and strengthen our sense of community,” Al Falasi said. “At the Dubai Racing Club, we are proud to contribute in a meaningful way during this blessed month, ensuring that our race meetings not only bring people together but also support initiatives that deliver real and lasting impact.”

His remarks reflect a broader ethos that has become increasingly prevalent across organisations in the UAE: a desire to find purposeful ways to contribute to society, especially at times when compassion and altruism are at the forefront of public consciousness.

Tickets and Participation

For those interested in attending the Ramadan-themed race nights or participating in this charitable initiative, tickets including general admission and special iftar packages are available for purchase through the Dubai Racing Club’s official website.

Whether experienced as a thrilling evening of horse racing or as an opportunity to contribute to a charitable cause, these events offer something meaningful for all attendees. In a month where acts of kindness are especially valued, this initiative exemplifies how different communities and sectors can come together to support those in need while celebrating shared traditions.
